SHUNSUI is a new concept by the Shunsui Group, formed from the merger of Kyuu by Shunsui and 5-time Michelin Plate awardee, Kappo Shunsui.


SHUNSUI aims to provide authentic Kappo-style Japanese cuisine with cutting-edge techniques and contemporary flair at an affordable price range to delight more lovers of the Japanese cuisine. SHUNSUI promises to take diners on a gastronomical journey of Japan with flavours that captivate tastebuds, where a vibrant, contemporary setting meets handcrafted, authentic Japanese food prepared from the heart.


An upscale, intimate sanctuary retreat from the bustle of Singapore, kemuri is meticulously curated to provide a convivial drinking and indulgent Yakitori Omakase experience. 

Encompassing only 10 counter seats and 8 guests spread across 2 tables, guests are invited to step into the zen-like atmosphere for a revitalising experience at the sister restaurant to 5-time Michelin Plate awardee, Kappo Shunsui, with fresh quality produce imported directly from Japan. 

We welcome you to enjoy the authenticity of premium Yakitori in a truly inventive atmosphere.


Led by Chef Takamasa Suzuki, under the direction of Kappo Shunsui Executive Chef, Chef Shimuta, Izakaya Shun brings forth an eccentric Japanese Izakaya experience through a fine selection of alcohol being served alongside an ever-changing Omakase menu of Japan’s seasonal best sourced from Toyosu Market in Tokyo.


The array of exquisite and top-quality, yet wallet-friendly delicacies - such as the Overflowing Ikura Rice (a signature of sister restaurant, Kyuu by Shunsui, created by Chef Takamasa Suzuki), Daily Omakase Assorted Sashimi, as well as dishes prepared in different cooking methods such as grilling, frying, steaming etc. are sure to delight the senses. Complete with a fine, carefully-sourced selection of alcohol such as beer, shochu, wine and sake, guests are welcome to experience and reminisce the energy of a night out in the back alleys of Tokyo as you knock back a bottle or two. 

On the Omakase menu, an outstanding interpretation of traditional Izakaya dishes are served alongside free-flow alcohol drinks that would be an ideal spot to wind down the day with friends and colleagues.

Izakaya Shun also houses a semi-private room that can hold between 4 to 10 guests.


Sushi Kyuu by Shunsui, pays homage to Japan’s rich culinary heritage and craft of sushi while embracing innovation. 


We pride ourselves from the selection of the freshest, quality seasonal ingredients sourced directly from Toyosu, to the precise execution of traditional techniques while ensuring prices are kept reasonable for our diners.


Omakase course menus are available at 5pm for the Tasting menu, or 6:15pm and 8:15pm for the Standard and Premium Omakase course menus. A curated selection of alcoholic drinks such as sake, shochu, umeshu, and highballs by the glass are also available from $7 onwards.
